Teens are walking on a very shaky terrain. No longer kids, yet still not adults. An intense time of defining who they are yet being surrounded by many different and powerful forces: family, peers, and teachers, body changes, emerging sexuality and more.
Getting support at this pivotal time in life where strategies of behavior are shaped can be very significant. Teens react to their surroundings, many times not knowing how to put their feelings into words or understand their inner chaos. Therapy can support teens in learning to understand themselves better and create better coping strategies for life. I often work as a bridge between the teen and his family, facilitating conversations and allowing closeness and trust to build.
